A space that is useful (for the artist) as a tool in the re-
search/experimental process of constructing an artwork.
Not simply a static site of exhibition.
In this manner a space that functions in as many ways as
possible as a utility in the functioning of an artwork.
The utilizing function of the space is central to the idea
of an 'exchange' whereby the space provides a necessary
function for the artist, other than one prescribed
by a traditional exhibition format.
